Yesterday’s post got me thinking about ‘Life Verses’ that I believe God has highlighted to me over the years.
The passage I spoke about yesterday from Luke’ Gospel (or the same passage in Matthew 6) have been key verses by which God has directed and comforted me and to remind me of His provision and level of care for me.
Proverbs 3: 5-6 is one of those many verses
Proverbs 3: 5-6 has got me through many, many challenging seasons in my life.
The most memorable time I clung onto this verse was every time I went to the American Embassy in London to get my visa to come to America. Each time I knew that God had called me to be here and that He would pave the way. However, waiting in line for up to 7 hours with Embassy officials sifting through your documents seemingly searching for a reason to deny you a visa can make a girl scared to say the least. I repeated this verse to myself all the way into the Embassy and each time as I approached the little window to be questioned. Every time I did it I was reminded that ultimately God is in control of my destiny….not the Embassy officials! Every time I was granted a visa, and I have since discovered that kind of visa is the most difficult to get!
Currently this verse has come back to my mind. I am reminded that I need to continue to put my trust in the Lord, and He will make my paths straight. In this season of our life it is easy to get distracted and thrown off course, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and not know where to begin. This is a helpful reminder that God is in control. That He is and His ways are beyond our understanding, but that if we continue to seek Him He will give us direction and clarity.
If this reminder was helpful to you feel free to print out one (or both) of the pictures and display it where you wish! Just right click and save the picture, then print it out!
I created two very different versions of the printables – so pick whichever you prefer!
